It is always a great experience shooting kids because unlike adults they tend to have no fear and concern for vanity and "how do i look" syndromes. They instead are alive, energetic and comfortable in their skin. This impromptu shoot with Elijah took 10 minutes and he delivered some amazing shots. I'm serious... get this guy an agent!

So here is an image i recently shot for the report cover of a study entitled The Great Service Divide: Occupational Segregation & Inequality in the New York City Restaurant Industry. This research was conducted by The New York City Restaurant Industry Coalition & the Restaurant Opportunities Center of New York (ROC-NY). The study will be release at the 2009 New York City Summit on Race and Gender in the Restaurant Industry held at Tom Colicchio’s Craftsteak Restaurant.

Everyone is invited to attend to hear about the results of our comprehensive study, The Great Service Divide: Occupational Segregation & Inequality in the New York City Restaurant Industry, which demonstrates the prevalence of racial, ethnic and gender-based inequity and barriers to advancement in the New York City Restaurant Industry, and provides best practices that can foster equality, greater opportunities for workers to support their families, and ultimately, a more profitable and productive restaurant sector.

On Saturday I shot a mini-documentary in Charleston, S.C. at Kulture Klash- a fresh and innovative festival for emerging artist. There were over 2,000 people in attendance. My documentary followed the artist Jaffia for her first major showing. The reactions to her work were amazing. She was probably the most talked about artist at the festival. Above is one of my favorite pieces in the show- Hottentot Vixen. I believe she is going to be big. Look for the documentary in the future on this blog.
